Who Needs SEO?
SEO, which stands for search engine optimization, is one of the best ways to get traffic to a website, landing page or even video, because it’s free traffic. Now when we say it’s “free traffic” we are taking about dollars and cents, and certainly aren’t taking into account the amount of time that SEO takes, but this depends on competition as well as the experience of the individual who is optimizing the site both on-page and off-page.
SEO is becoming increasingly more difficult every year as Google is trying to discourage and prevent those who SEO from getting organic traffic to their site. They do this by penalizing sites that are trying to “game the system” as well as creating and launching algorithms which can blow a once successful website from the number one position to not being found in the top one-thousand. The bottom line is, SEO is becoming more difficult, and those who were once able to rank their websites easily are finding it far harder than it once was and are even in some cases, giving up entirely.
For example, the “Penguin” algorithm which was released April 24, 2012 took many by surprise and even caused many webmasters to completely lose their businesses overnight. This is just how unpredictable SEO is, and if you don’t know what you are doing it could cause you to lose your entire business in the process.
